We are taking it back to basics this week with what should I do if I want to sell my property?
The first thing that we recommend you do is research. Research the current property market in your area and get an idea of how much your property is worth compared to other properties that have recently sold which are similar to yours.
You may wish to do this yourself or if you desire you may want to employ a valuer or real estate agent to value your property for you.
You should make sure the expected sale price the property may achieve will be sufficient to pay out your mortgage, agents commission, legal fees and the like.
When you have confirmed that you would like to sell you should contact your preferred real estate agent and advise them that you would like to put the property on the market.
You should then contact your solicitor to have a Contract for Sale prepared. All residential properties require a contract to be drafted before the property can be advertised for sale.
Once the contract has been drafted it will be forwarded to your real estate agent who will list the property for sale.
